The Constellations Center for Equity in Computing at Georgia Tech is hosting its 3rd annual Computer Science Professional Development Summit. The theme this year is Inspire, Connect, and Empower.
The virtual conference will be held on June 21-22, 2022 and is open to educators at all levels. After facing unprecedented hardships during the last couple of academic years due to COVID-19, coming together this summer is more important than ever. We’re bringing together a host of presenters to INSPIRE the community of CS educators that keep students at the center of our collective efforts. We’re also providing opportunities for you to CONNECT with your peers to share resources and thrive in each other’s successes. And this summit aims to EMPOWER you to lead the next generation of leaders to address a wide variety of complex problems and to change their world. It remains critical that the people with computing skills who will solve these problems are representative of the world we live in.
Our goals for the summit remain the same — to support and care for our teachers in the best way possible and build a compassionate and unified community of educators who are the central figures for the youth of our nation.
This summit is focused on increasing knowledge and action to:
- broaden participation in CS education and continue developing and supporting K-16 CS educators;
- make equity a priority including equitable recruitment, successful participation, and upward mobility for underrepresented students in computing education;
- share research efforts and findings, and discuss inclusive and culturally responsive CS resources and strategies; and
- build community with K-16 CS educators.
